What is Online Double Conversion UPS and What Is Offline UPS / Standby / Battery Backup UPS
Online Double Conversion UPS means that no matter whether the Grid voltage is normal or not, the AC voltage used by the load has to go through the inverter circuit, and the inverter is always in the working state. So when the power is cut off, UPS can immediately convert the stored power into AC power to supply power to the load through the inverter, so as to achieve the goal of zero interruption of output voltage.
What Is Offline UPS / Standby / Battery Backup UPS
When the power supply is normal, the battery is in the state of charge. In case of power failure, the inverter works to convert the DC provided by the battery into stable AC and output it to the electrical equipment. Because the inverter doesn’t work when the power supply is normal, it only works when the battery is discharged when the power supply is cut off, so this kind of UPS is called Offline UPS / Backup UPS.
Case 2 - Detailed description of protection circuit for switching power supply
Input under voltage protection circuit
1. Overview (description of circuit type and realization of main function):
Input under voltage protection circuit. When the input voltage is lower than the preset under voltage value, cut off the output. When the input voltage rises to the preset recovery value, the output automatically returns to normal.
2. Circuit diagram:
When the input voltage is within the normal operating range, Va is greater than the regulated value of VD4, VT4 is turned on, Vb is at 0 potential, and VT5 is turned off, the protection circuit does not work at this time. When the input voltage is lower than the preset under voltage value, Va less than the voltage value of VD4, VT4 is off, Vb is high, VT5 is on, COMP (pin 1 of the chip) is pulled to 0 potential, and the chip turns off the output to realize the under voltage protection function. R21, VT6, and R23 form a hysteresis circuit for under voltage shutdown and recovery.4. The advantages and disadvantages of the circuit:
Advantages: simple circuit form and low cost.
Disadvantages: Due to the difference in the voltage regulation value of the voltage regulator tube VD4 between batches, to result in the under voltage protection point fluctuates up and down, and the relevant parameters need to be adjusted frequently during mass production.
What is EMI Filter?
A filter is a circuit that removes or “filters out” frequency components in a specific range. In other words, it separates the frequency spectrum of the signal into frequency components that will pass and frequency components that will be blocked.
Let us assume that we have an audio signal composed of a perfect 5 kHz sine wave. We know what a sine wave looks like in the time domain, and in the frequency domain we can only see a frequency “spike” of 5 kHz. Now let us suppose that we activate a 500 kHz oscillator to introduce high frequency noise into the audio signal. The signal seen on the oscilloscope is still just a sequence of voltages, with a value at each moment, but the signal will look different because its time domain changes must now reflect the 5 kHz sine wave and high-frequency noise fluctuations. However, in the frequency domain, sine waves and noise are separate frequency components that exist simultaneously in the one signal. Sine waves and noise occupy different parts of the signal’s frequency domain representation (as shown in the figure below), which means that we can filter out noise by directing the signal through circuits that pass low frequencies and block high frequencies.

The inverter draws its power from a battery, or several batteries wired in parallel. The battery will need to be recharged as the power is drawn out of it by the inverter. Fault Finding Method of AF60W Series Frequency Converter
Fault Finding Method of AF60W Series Frequency Converter / AC Power Supply
1.The buzzer alarm and the LED marked”GL/LED3″ is lighting up in the motherboard,it means over current alarm.
If there is no load units,the IGBT module and the Driven Circuit Board may be faulty,please check them as per instruction showing in Part D
If there load units,please cut off some loads.
2.The buzzer alarm and the LED which marked”GR/LED1″ is lighting up in the motherboard,it means over heat alarm.
Please check the exhaust fans,they may not work or its speed becomes slow.replace new ones or reduce some load units.
3. The buzzer alarm and the LED which marked”GY/LED2″ is lighting up in the motherboard,it means over voltage alarm.
Please check the output Filtering Capacitors showed in Part F,test it to see how many μF it is,if it’s about 0.3 μ F (almost zero)when it should be 30μ F,50 μ F… which is showed in the label.it tells they are faulty,please replace the new ones.
Note,please disconnect the capacitors from the unit before test it with meter.
1.The display shows output voltage is much lower than the setting voltage Please check the buffering circuit modules. If you can feel the heating come from the buffer resistance obviously or the resistance looks been burn it can tell the static switch is faulty.
2.If the panel display is not lighting up after press the“start”button, please check the “Power off/on Board”showed in Part E,please test to see if it’s +-DC17V or +- DC12V shown on the part E,if not,it tells this board is faulty.
How to know the mother board is faulty or not.
For the 3 phase unit, each phase is independent. The motherboard connected each phase driven circuit board with a single gray flat-cables,so there are 3 gray flat cables here Action:turn off the unit first ,then Please disconnect the 3 gray flat-cables from the mother board,now turn on the converter to see if the alarm is still there,if yes,it means the mother board is failed.If No,it means the mother board is good.
120kVA Trailer Ground Power Unit
When parked on the ground an aircraft cannot use the normal 50Hz mains power as it needs 400Hz power. As a result airports need specialized ground support equipment , also known as ground power units (GPUs), to allow the aircraft to function while on the ground. ACSOON compact dimensioned frequency converters can be fixed to the passenger loading bridge or can be hung underneath the walkway or simply fixed to a convenient place close to the aircraft.
The advantage of the Ground Power Unit is that it prevents the on board generator APU being run which produces a lot of noise and air pollution. The ACSOON ground power unit is connected to the normal 3 phase power source and delivers an output of 200V three phase 400 Hz power to the aircraft through cables. The GPU is only switched on when the aircraft needs the power, it also has a built in feature that allows the GPU to synchronize with the on board aircraft power system so the lights, air conditioning system and the avionics continue running and operating during the change over from aircraft power to the external GPU.
GPU is very efficient, the converter is only switched on when needed and is more flexible than the earlier generation 400Hz systems on older airports that operate large converters in parallel drawing continuous power from the mains.
ACSOON can also provide a combination system in a single enclosure with a 3 phase 200V 400Hz output and with a secondary output of 28V DC 600Amps with peak of 2000A for helicopter engine starting and battery charging that can be installed in a maintenance hangar or on the apron of an airport, the combination unit can also be built in the horizontal format for mounting under the passenger loading bridge and operate in conjunction with an automatic cable reeling unit.
The 90kVA, 120kVA and 180kVA systems can be supplied in outdoor or indoor enclosures with all weather protection for fixed or mounted on a trailer for mobile applications.

What is Power Inverter and what does that used for
The input voltage, output voltage and frequency, and overall power capacity depend on the design of the specific device or circuitry. The inverter does not produce any power, and the power is provided by the DC sources.

What Is Aircraft Ground Power Unit
An aircraft ground power unit allows operators to provide 28VDC and/or 115VAC power to the aircraft while on the ground. These units are used to help start the aircraft’s engines, performing maintenance, repair, or provide general on board power while the aircraft is in the hangar or on the ramp.
The GPU is usually run on the ground during passenger boarding and deplaning. The GPU turns an electric generator that powers the electrical system on the aircraft when the main engines are off, more importantly thing is that it starting the main engines.

What Is A Static Frequency Converter
Static Frequency Converters, sometimes also known as Fixed Frequency Converters, Static Frequency Converters (SFC) do not produce continuous three phase power. A rotary phase converter produces a true sine wave of 3 phase power and can run the machinery at full horsepower
Rotary frequency converters (also called Motor-Generators) convert incoming AC Power into rotary mechanical power (spinning motor), which transmits its rotary power to a generator, which converts its mechanical power into Electric AC output power. Rotary power is often described in terms of Horsepower, while Electrical power is described in Kilowatts (kW) or Kilovolt Amperes (KVA). The conversion of frequency (Hertz – Hz), voltage, and/or phase (3 phase, 1 phase) are inherent in this process.

How To Operate A Power Inverter

Compared with conventional uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS), inverter power supply has the following advantages in power plants
Install and operation
The upper terminals are:
“+”: positive pole of DC input, “-“: negative pole of DC input, pay attention to positive and negative pole and do not connect them reversely;
“L”: live line of bypass input, “n”: zero line of bypass input, “GND”: ground line of AC output;
“L”: live line of AC output, “n”: zero line of AC output, “GND”: ground line of AC output.
When unpacking, please check whether the box is damaged. If the box is obviously deformed, please immediately

1. Confirm that the start switch on the front panel is in the “stop” position. The DC air switch on the back of the chassis is also in the “stop” position.
2. Please connect the DC line to the terminal correctly according to the input mark in the inverter, and do not connect “+” – “reversely!
3. Start up: first connect the DC input of the power supply, set the DC air switch at the back of the chassis to the “start” position, then set the start switch on the front panel of the power supply to the “start” position, and the “inverter” indicator light of the power supply will be on, indicating that the inverter works normally. The voltmeter and ammeter start to display the working status at this time.
4. Shutdown: set the start switch on the front panel of the power supply to the “stop” position, and then set the DC air switch behind the power supply to the “stop” position, and the power supply stops working
